How I Stay Motivated

unnamed

That’s me up there keeping up with wheatgrass shots. Mostly I think they’re hilarious, and pretty feisty, so every once in a while I decide I’m going to spend a week loading my body with juiced grass because I know how powerfully good it is for you.

But is it an every week thing? Certainly not! Sometimes I’ll go months in between wheatgrass weeks.

And that’s the basis of this post. Maybe your goal isn’t shooting wheatgrass, maybe your goal is eating one healthier meal per week. Or maybe you’re trying to lose weight. Or maybe you’re trying to eat lighter so that your mood lifts. Heck, maybe you’re trying to eat more to boost your breastmilk supply! No matter what yours is, it’s a goal. And goals need motivation.

As a Nutritionist, and as a woman who leads a super healthy life, I know how important motivation is. There was a time when I didn’t have ANY motivation to do ANYTHING, and I still remember those times and how truly crappy they were.

But my goal came out of those times: to be crazy motivated, and to be able to jump up and say ‘yes!’ to anything coming my way that I wanted, somewhere in me, to be a part of.

So I wanted to share my best, most solid piece of motivational advice, because I’d love to help you lead the life you really want. And that life, girl, needs motivation.

It’s a two-step process.

Step One: Be honest about where you are.

Yep. Simple, sweet, yet crazy powerful. So, you’re looking to eat one healthier meal per week. Well, where are you right now? How often are you honestly going to fast food places? How often are you eating out of a box, or out of plastic deli containers? The important thing about this step is to be judgement free on yourself. This isn’t time to self-loathe. This isn’t the place to beat yourself up! Where you’re at now, is exactly where you’ve always needed to be to move forward. So, where are you?

Step Two: Decide you want more.

Yep, that’s it. Decide truly, deeply that you want more. That you want better results. That you want to feel incredible. And know that you deserve it. Because you do. As one of my favourite people (Jennifer Trask I’m talking about you) says, ‘You’re a miracle. The fact that your parents were born at the time and place needed to meet up and create you, that everything fell into place, that the pregnancy was safe and perfect, and that their parents had the same thing happen, and their parents, and so on’ is one of the best signs that you were meant to be here.

Once you’ve decided you want more, if you allow it, you’ll naturally align with the people who can help you get there. Have you ever randomly stumbled upon a website, or met a ‘random’ person who really had an impact on you? That’s getting in line with the things that you’ve wanted.

If you have health goals specifically, and you’re a positive person and you’d like to work towards them, I’d LOVE to help you on your journey.

I’ve made a motivational appointment special for this January and I really want it to be for the right people. It includes two appointments with me, all of my best motivational tips in a print-it-out-and-stick-it-on-your-fridge PDF and a supplement plan and quick reference notes from our first appointment together. I created it to tie together all the best of what I know and use to keep myself at my best, brightest and mud-racing wildest. If you’re called, I want you as part of it. As a client from this week said: “Thank you so much for this! You’re such a beautiful person. So helpful.” She knows I give my best, best, best in my client appointments. I’d love to give my best tips to you, too.
